Max Riederer von Paar

Max Riederer von Paar joined the firm as a partner in 2004. His practice focuses on assisting international clients in navigating the American legal system. Mr. Riederer specializes in estate planning and asset protection for multinational families and individuals (cross-border charitable giving, use of offshore life insurance including private placement insurance, planning with foreign trusts, etc.) as well as in international business transactions, including international litigation and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Riederer serves as outside general counsel for the German Embassy and German military personnel in the United States and Canada, and he represents the Federal Republic of Germany and its entities as well as a number of large German nonprofit organizations. He also is counsel to Heisse Kursawe, a Munich-based law firm, and serves on the board of the German American Business Council. Before joining Rubin, Winston, Diercks, Harris & Cooke, he was with Dilworth Paxson, LLP in their Washington, D.C., office. Mr. Riederer speaks regularly on international and transnational legal matters and is an adjunct professor at the George Washington University School of Business and Public Management where he lectures on the legal aspects of international business.
